چکیده
Manure derived from cattle, chickens, and goats can be used as compost has different nutrient content. The application of manure improve soil’s physical, chemical, biological properties thus increase plant growth productivity. purpose this study was to determine the effect various (cow, chicken, goat) on elephant grass cv Pakchong (Pennisetum purpureum cv. Pakchong). design a completely randomized with 4 treatments 5 replications. treatment is fertilizing using compost, namely P0= without P1=cow P2=chicken P3=goat compost. observed variables were height, number leaves tiller, dry weight stem shoots roots. results showed that use had significant (P<0.05) increasing Pakchong. Chicken produces best which seen leaves, stems, shoots.

Genomic homeology between Pennisetum purpureum and Pennisetum glaucum (Poaceae)
The genus Pennisetum (Richard, 1805) includes two economically important tropical forage plants: Pennisetum purpureum (Schumacher, 1827) (elephant grass), with 2n = 4x = 28 chromosomes and genomes A'A'BB, and Pennisetum glaucum (Linnaeus, 1753) (pearl millet), with 2n = 2x = 14 chromosomes and genomes AA. The genetic proximity between them allows hybrids to be obtained (2n = 3x = 21) that yield...

Napier grass (Pennisetum purpureum Schumach.) is a fast-growing perennial grass native to Sub-Saharan Africa that is widely grown across the tropical and subtropical regions of the world. It is a multipurpose forage crop, primarily used to feed cattle in cut and carry feeding systems. Characterization and diversity studies on a small collection of Napier grasses have identified a moderate level...

Interspecific hybridization between Napier grass (Pennisetum purpureum), which is widely grown in Brazil for cattle forage, and pearl millet (Pennisetum glaucum) has been used as a breeding strategy for the development of improved cultivars. However, the hybrid between these two species is sterile due to its triploid condition (2n = 3x = 21 chromosomes), which hinders its use in crop breeding p...

Pearl millet (Pennisetum glaucum (L.) R. Br.) and napier grass (Pennisetum purpureum Schumach) are the most economically important species in the genus Pennisetum. Knowledge of genetic diversity of these two species would enhance their potentials for utilization. The present work assessed the genetic diversity and phylogenetic relationship among Nigerian and Indian accessions of pearl millet an...

BACKGROUND Elephant grass (Pennisetum purpureum Schumach) and Hybrid Pennisetum (Pennisetum americanum × P. purpureum Schumach) are tall, fast-growing perennial C4 bunchgrasses that have been in recent developed as the most appropriate biomass feedstock in many countries for exploring various biofuel products. However, the challenges of increasing plant biomass yield and enhancing their stress ...
